What it takes to become Lean Bronze Certified...

  • 80 hours of documented lean education, training, and development
  • Formal application submitted through the Lean Gulf Institute to the granting body in the USA for approval
  • Completion of a 170 multiple choice question, locally proctored, computerized (or written) 3 hours exam based on the Lean Body of Knowledge
  • Portfolio submission and peer review of Lean project work consisting of:
    – 3 tactical projects for each Lean Bronze candidate documented by the candidate in a prescribed manner and
    – a concise 1 page portfolio reflection to be successfully completed within 3 years of passing the exam.

 

Lean Bronze candidate must apply themselves to the Lean Bronze Certification program and develop skills to be fully capable of applying lean principles and tools to drive improvements and show measurable results. They need knowledge of the basic principles and techniques of Lean as applied to:

  • Enterprises, Office and Service
  • Team Facilitation
  • Project Management
  • Appropriate Measurement of Results

CM-Lean Construction Certificate Credential

Everyone involved in the construction process has incentive to get the project done faster and at a lower cost from the project owners who need tangible results for their investment to contractors and designers who want to do their job well and move on o the next project.

The AGC Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean) is an assessment-based certificate credential, reflecting knowledge and understanding of concepts related to lean adoption, practice and process transformation outlined in AGC’s Lean Construction Education Program. Developed in partnership with the Lean Construction Institute, the AGC curriculum is based on the holistic pursuit of continues improvements aimed at minimizing costs and maximizing value at phases of a project planning, including design, construction, activation, operations, maintenance, salvaging and recycling. The required courses are:

  • Unit 1: Variation in the Production Systems
  • Unit 2: Pull in Production
  • Unit 3: Lean Work Structuring
  • Unit 4: The Last Planner System
  • Unit 5: Lean Supply Chain and Assembly
  • Unit 6: Lean Design and Pre-Construction 
  • Unit 7: Problem Solving Principles and Tools and can be completed in 5 days.

 

Eligibility Requirements: CM-Lean candidates must successfully complete all 7 Lean Construction Education Program courses, obtain a record of completion and have an approved application in advance of the 150 question exam administration. 

Successful candidate will carry the CM-Lean Designation.
